Santiago Herrera, an 18-year-old chemistry student from Argentina, built a motorcycle that runs on salt water as part of a university project.

Electrolysis is used as the theoretical basis for its operation, which is a process in which ionic compounds are broken down with the help of direct current.

The project is called “Green step by step” and if its commercialization would be possible, it would make a big contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions.

The motorcycle instead of a tank has a glass jar that is filled with dirty or sea water that serves as “propellant”.

You can see what this motorcycle looks like in the video that Santiago has uploaded on his TikTok profile.
